If you were fortunate enough to have enjoyed the experience of being locked down, locked up, or locked in this past year, then perhaps you were able to sit with your soul uninterrupted and peacefully.

For me, it was a year of lessons, patience, self-acceptance, and soul searching. Not actually searching my soul, but the quiet allowed me to feel and see things from within that I normally may not have ever have allowed myself the opportunity to do. For this I am grateful. The entire experience reminded me of what retirement would be like. Towards the completion of the isolation cycle I decided – hands down – not yet! No retirement for me!

As the world reopens, we welcome Spring, venturing out into warmer temperatures and sunshine. Fresh greens of nature begin to unfurl and blossom, appearing in all forms. Baby fern emerges from the cool earth. This season of renewed beginnings brings opportunities that can be very empowering.

How about a little re-awakening, revitalization + rejuvenation? These words inspire growth, creativity and tranquility.

My love affair with green is intense. Green is a constant in my life. It’s never boring. Ever. The presence of green conjures a sense of security and continues to be a consistent “neutral” backdrop for walls, home decor, and the body. Using verdant hues is a great way to revive your life! My kitchen transformed from a shy golden yellow to Inverness, from Benjamin Moore. Freshness in the kitchen spreads throughout the home. Painting is an easy way to give something an uplift.

I love the alluring essence of this color. It is energizing, stimulating, and inspiring. Green is the key color representing purity + health. It evokes powerful emotions.  It’s no wonder there is comfort in living in it, wearing it, and adorning the body in it.

The new pieces in this photo collage are from my jewelry line, NymphJewels. I portray several different stones in green hues, all of which have beautiful healing properties. The necklace (upper left) is primarily ammonite with accents of pyrite and citrine. The throat and heart chakra benefit from these stones. It enhances communication, trust, honor, and mental clarity. The necklace (lower left) are raw green agate chips, vintage sterling silver charms, and a raw piece of fluorite. Similar healing qualities as the amazonite piece above.  Fluorite absorbs negative energy and stress. It encourages positivity as it stirs creativity within. The lower right corner piece is this month’s birthstone: Emeralds! Knotted and corded with pyrite pieces as well as green garnet accents. This piece is adjustable. The center square holds an intense lustrous chrysoprase necklace. This is a stone of abundance; stabilizing emotions, working with the heart chakra, and bringing grace to the individual. The bevy of greens on my wrist are a combination of peridot, jasper, diopside, moss aquamarine, and jade. I just love this combination. It’s energizing, grounding and inspiring. The three necklaces can be found on my website. nymphjewels.com

Next Chapter

I spent my time wisely during Covid, finding a newly acquired amount of energy from lots of rest and exercise. This allowed me the freedom and time to create and work on my jewelry collections. My goal + desire was always to once again have a brick and mortar, and what I decided was – rather than retiring – to pour myself into a new shop! Yup. You read that correctly… There is no time like the present. This time the store will be in heart of Beacon Hill on Charles Street. I am so pleased to share this news with you all and can not wait for you to come in and visit. It will be a lifestyle shop – meaning accessories for the home, tabletop, clothing, and jewelry. Let me not forget scents – candles and incense. Most of the merchandise is exclusive to MATSU only.

I can’t wait to see you all. I’ll be creating a beautiful oasis for you to enter, allowing you to immerse yourself into a new environment filled with allure, mystery and charm. We are targeting a Mother’s day weekend opening!

I loved writing about all of the things that make my heart sing in this blog post, and hope you too, enjoyed the journey!

See you soon!

Yours in Joy,

Dava

  2. Good morning DAVA! I wanted to take the time to sit quietly and read your message. I can completely relate to your experience. It sounds like you also took the time to use this past year to sit quietly—and rediscover everything you love in a new light. I am so happy to reconnect with you and Masa at this time. And thrilled to be on this new adventure with you both. CONGRATULATIONS with your reopening and reemergence. XP
