2020: the year the world slowed down. And if we are really savvy, we would embrace this time. There are so many aspects to our lives which are untapped. This, I’ve discovered during these past many months, I consider a blessing. Whether working from home, attending Zoom calls, online classes of all sorts, practicing yoga, Pilates, and maybe even taking cooking classes, this pause is creating space for all of it. We have time to take care of ourselves unlike ever before. Not something to take for granted. In which direction have you gone?

Have you been a couch potato or have you been washing your windows and editing your closets? Living with this virus is our new paradigm. Do yourselves, your friends and your family a favor: show up for yourselves daily! Don’t appear on a Zoom call with your bathrobe on – it should be common sense but I’ve heard more stories about people showing up exactly like that. Catch my drift? It’s called etiquette. Self respect. Take this time to practice self-care. This is a time to reset habits and let go of the bad ones. Don’t let the virus stop your life. Live it! There are signs and new opportunities which may be subtle, but if you are aware, they will show up.

It is now October. Seasonal gourds are appearing locally. And luckily our world here in the U.S. is slowly opening up. Travel has become available to us once again – with complete caution, of course. Flying is easy. Clean and quick. I felt protected and safe – imagine that – in the air! We are surrounded by so much beauty here in the United States. Time to explore. Take yourself on an adventure. I did! Oh, and my bucket list is getting shorter! My trip to Sedona took place last week. It was impossible to escape being one with nature out there. Sedona’s spiritual heritage goes back thousands of years. The reds, ochres and burnt oranges of the rock formations can place you in such a contemplative state. The various tones of the greens in the vegetation signals growth, renewal and rebirth. Quite the contrast by comparison, yet they resonate and thrive together as one. All things majestic; the brilliance of the colors – especially during sunset when the sun’s reflections bounce off the monumental mountain scapes – is definitely something to capture with your own eyes or the lens of a camera!

We traveled by Jeep up several mountains on rocky, unpaved “roads,” bouncing around like children on a toy. Once at the top we experienced the feeling of vastness and beauty unparalleled to anything else. We gazed out at the landscape, arm-in-arm.

Up, up and away…

Thank you Red Rock Balloons! The hot air balloon driver picked us up at the crack of dawn. It was pitch black at 5:30 am on that Saturday. The three of us (my daughter, her friend and I) were slightly anxious, but excited. the grand scale of not only the balloon, but the landscape and surreal experience brought us above the sunrise. It was a glory to see. The peace one experience up so high is unlike anything else. As they prepared the balloon for take off, we happily acknowledge the grounding of our feet and bodies still on the terrain. But not for long! As we begin to soar upward, very gracefully I might add, I inquired about the cost of the entire kit and caboodle. Guess. For a six-passenger balloon, the purchase price is $68,000. Imagine that!

Here we are before take off!

And then the sunrise appears – absolutely breathtaking. The fear and anxiety subtly dissolves as we rise above the ground. In the span of a short period of time, our energy moves at a pace which seems graciously slow but really beyond anything we can fathom from above! In contrast – which seems to be a theme in Sedona – yin/yang everywhere you turn. Visiting Crystal Magic was one of the last highlights of the trip. Beautiful healing stones and crystals from around the world are offered in this earthy gift shop. They even sell drinking water with gemstones inside!

I love the photo below of the single terminated clear crystals. These crystals are used to charge the chakras (energy centers of the body) or disburse negative energy. This cut of crystal is commonly used for jewelry. Wearing the crystals can be tricky, so please be aware. Clear crystal can be worn as a talisman, or simply decoratively. Either way, one must be cautious when wearing them. they can behave like a sponge, taking on the negativity around you. Holding on to it. If you’re in a bad mood, the crystal will hold the energy and reflect it back to you. It can also take on the energy of people holding negative energy near you.

To counteract this, place the piece inside your clothing. Your crystal will be less vulnerable to other’s energy when worn inside. On the other hand, if you are in a positive space and feeling happy, wear crystal like the beautiful piece I just created: Loire: a crystal quartz, rosewood and Herkimer diamond talisman necklace. This piece feels good on the body and in the hand. Sitting comfortably at the solar plexus, it is protective, and can raise your vibration. This unique piece is a one of a kind creation, available on my website, Nymph Jewels.

October 2020 has been, and still is, a questionable time in terms of the virus, and even the weather is behaving in an unpredictable way. Snow this weekend? Regardless, this time in our lives is a good opportunity to practice less mindless hustle, and more mindful magic. Don’t you agree?

I hope you enjoyed this journey. I’d love to hear from you! Don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments or magic of your own you’d like to share.

Until next time…yours in Joy + Spirit,
