May is one of the most lavish months in the year, its birthstone is emerald; gem of Venus.         Calming, balancing, and nourishing, emerald helps ease emotional upsets. Emerald is useful during transitional times in your life. It assists understanding changes and new directions taken. It can also be used as a cleanser to rid yourself of any lingering negative energies.IMG_8182

This stone is known as the stone of successful love. It brings loyalty and provides for domestic bliss. Enhancing unconditional love and unity, while promoting friendship. Emerald stimulates the heart chakra. This stone focuses intention and raises consciousness. Emerald inspires positive actions, eliminating negativity while enhancing the ability to enjoy life to the fullest. The triple strand necklace (shown below and available for sale) holds a beautiful pave diamond angel wing, signifying new beginnings.

Green is the predominant color for the month of May. It is the color of renewal and rebirth. This is what Spring is all about. Rain nurtures earth. The grasses, shrubs, and trees become alive and rich showing off their various green hues. The list of green tones are practically endless, however I’d like to name several because I find the subject stimulating, creative and fun. Starting with nature; olives, apples, fir, leaves, fern, lime, mint, moss, peas, pine, sage, and sap. Green is life. Abundant in nature, green signifies growth and movement. Asparagus, broccoli, artichokes, escarole, dandelion greens, the list is vast.

Nature appears in many forms. Gemstones are another one of my favorite categories portraying shades of green. The photo below is a pile of polished and tumbled green tourmaline. I find it hypnotic, calming, and soothing to the eyes. Gemstones tell stories, have healing properties, coming straight from Earth. They cleanse, purify, and transform dense energy into a lighter vibration. This brilliant green gemstone grounds spiritual energy, clears and balance Chakras as they form a protective shield around the body. This stone is good for awareness, creativity, and inspiration. See? Other than the natural healing qualities of this beautiful stone, the correlation with nature is obvious to the psychology of the color green.

It signifies wisdom gathered in tranquility. Jade is associated with the heart chakra and increases love and nurturing. It is a protective stone, keeping the wearer from harm, offering harmony. It is believed to attract good luck and friendship. Jade stabilizes the personality as it integrates mind and body. It also releases negative thoughts and soothes the mind. https://www.etsy.com/your/shops/NymphJewels/tools/listings/page:2/235854082

It’s been said that people who love green tend to be loving and nurturing. Truth be told.  Just realized the color combination above, will resonate once again in the interior photo below. Adding just a touch of the “opposite” tone to the mix of greens can be the most welcoming and stimulating combination ever!

Bringing the energy of green into the home is a wonderful way to create an in-home retreat. Using this color in the environment can depict tones reflecting the outdoors. It’s clear that the contrast in the month of May is rather vivid by comparison to the doldrums of the winter months, as nature  becomes alive, it spurns the same within our own lives.

An in-home treat can serve you, and be a natural relaxer and haven where you find yourselves refresh and renew. The designer that created  the room below was fearless in portraying a variety of different tones of greens, including olive, chartreuse, a muted bluish-green patina on the walls, and added magenta into the mix, for additional interest. It works.

Screen Shot 2016-05-03 at 9.21.35 AM Green is the color of money, prosperity, and nature. Green can also have negative connotations such as a green monster, or green with envy.  Its color is more positive than negative.  I choose to  find it restful, inspirational, calming, and stimulating. Olive velvet is so rich. The color is wonderful to live with, on the walls, or in the form of clothing. It is nearly a “neutral” evoking pure nature.

The woman standing in the haunting green light below might provoke a sense of fright, mystery or beauty, depending on how the color effects you. The magic of the color green!

Back to nature, which I love and can not imagine living apart from, is a photo of moss. Serenity, calm, rich, and lush earth. Imagine walking through the moss field in bare feet, allowing the energy of earth to soak through the roots of your body, as it noursihes the soul. I envision it feeling cool and refreshing underfoot.

The woman in the photo below appears to be completely content with emerald silk covering her body. The color is so profound, yet calming at the same time. I never tire of looking at this color- doesn’t matter which tone, or shade of green. This is because I always feel renewed and restored when I wear it or gaze at it. It nurtures my heart, uplifts a low mood, soothes, and calms my mind and heart. Green is nature’s medicine.

I’d love to continue uploading photos portraying the many shades of green and allow myself to get carried away with the never ending calm the color exudes, however- I have a very important message for you- two, actually.

I listened very carefully to the subtle whispers inside my head. As life has revealed a few new adventures and opportunities to me, MATSU is in the process of morphing  into another form. The creation of my tiny little “jewel box” of a sanctuary served me well for 16 months. I provided a nurturing space for clients to come in, shop and learn a bit about themselves through the power of gemstones and jewelry. This will not change. As I guide the business along, it organically morphs into another form, moving to Weston. The Sudbury location was an easy commute, easy parking and on a main road, but unfortunately the area did not support it. I thank all of those who did come out and visit- it’s not really that far, but for some a definite destination. I needed to make it easier for you and more stimulating for me.  As of June 1, I’ll be able to receive you at my in home boutique by appointment. Just 12 miles west of  Boston,  Exit 26 off of 128. The rest is easy! I will be holding events, readings, astrological lessons, and of course pop up trunk shows. Fall apparel will be on display among other finds waiting to be discovered later in the summer, pre-fall. Why? Simultaneous to this realization and  discovery  of feeling the move would be positive, I was hired by MAJESTIC FILATURES. Yes, that wonderful Canadian manufacturer- made in France, luxurious basics and other pieces now added into their collection. I have been a promoter of this merchandise since early 2006, and now have the opportunity to grow the business and run their in store boutique in Bloomingdales, Chestnut Hill.  You will find me here weekly on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. I will be sending out a formal announcement by June 1. Here is a shot of the boutique after I finished merchandising it last week.

The color Green is all about growth and go. Moving forward and springing ahead, with harmony and balance. Everyone, this is now my direction, and having the opportunity to work with a product I’ve loved and supported for many years, along with housing my treasures back in Weston, I do believe I have manifested the balance and harmony within the many facets of my life.

I look forward to seeing you very soon. Questions? Comments? Feel free to contact me! I would love very much to hear from you.

Yours in joy and style,
